Starting conditions
Some people choose a profession under the influence of their near and dear ones. Tatyana Petrovna Pankova was born on January 9, 1917 in a family of technical intelligentsia. Parents lived in the famous city of Petrograd. My father worked as an engineer at an engineering plant. Mother taught math in one of the higher educational institutions. Tatyana was an obedient and smart child. She tried in every way to imitate her older brother, who became interested in playing on stage and joined the Bolshoi Drama Theater.
Pankova also wanted to become an actress, but she was stopped by her own appearance. To put it mildly, she did not classify herself among the beauties. At school, Tanya studied well. Her favorite subject was math. The girl several times emerged victorious at the city mathematical olympiads. After school, she entered the Polytechnic Institute and received a higher technical education. But she did not work in her specialty, but decidedly gathered herself and left for Moscow to enter the Shchepkin Theater School.
Professional activity
Student years coincided with the war. Tatyana enrolled in the front troupe of the Maly Theater. The artists had to wander for weeks on country roads, and speak to the Red Army fighters, who after the concert went into battle. It happened to artists to fall under the shelling of enemy artillery. For performing the role of Arina Fedotovna in the play "Do not Sit in Your Sled", the young actress Pankova received an award at a competition of creative front-line teams. When in 1943 the situation at the front stabilized, and our troops went on the offensive, the actress was recalled to Moscow and enlisted in the main staff of the Maly Theater.
Pankova's theatrical career was quite successful. It is important to note that the actress has never experienced bouts of "star fever". She willingly agreed to play the main roles, and to go on stage in the minute episode. Tatyana Petrovna was invited to act in films. The debut was the supporting role in the film "Anna on the neck." Then other films followed. Pankova became truly famous after the release of the movie "Star of captivating happiness."
