Starting conditions
Man is a social being. This means that in order to reveal his abilities and talents, he needs to communicate with people around him. Moreover, any form of communication can be transformed into conflict and fierce confrontation. Such excesses are observed in the family, and in the team, and in a random company. Development psychologist Gordon Newfeld developed his concept, which explains the hidden meaning of relationships between people.
Newfeld was born in the spring of 1946 in the family of a soldier. Parents at that time lived in the Canadian city of Vancouver. Father received benefits as a participant in the hostilities. Mother worked as a waitress in a cafe. We had to live very modestly, every cent was registered. Gordon grew up a smart and observant boy. He saw classmates living. He developed friendly relations with someone, and tried to stay away from someone.
Professional activity
After graduating from college, Gordon entered the philosophical department of the famous University of British Columbia. In his student years, he became interested in psychology. After receiving a liberal arts education, Newfeld remained in the department to engage in research activities. After some time, they began to attract him to participate in forensic psychological examinations. The young scientist worked a lot with juvenile delinquents in places of detention.
For more than twenty years, Professor Newfeld has lectured at university students on personality theory, parent-child relationships, and developmental psychology. The career of a practicing psychologist was harmoniously combined with teaching. The accumulated information made it possible to "give out" to an interested audience quite specific recommendations and recipes. Newfeld's authoring articles regularly appeared on the pages of scientific journals. He began to be invited to thematic conferences and symposia.
