The very concept of " house book " first appeared in the XVIII century. It was then that this administrative accounting document was introduced. The house books were compiled by private bailiffs in each police unit of the city and contained the following information about citizens: full name, rank, rank, place of residence and family composition.

A house (apartment) book is the only document in accordance with which you can get a certificate of the composition of persons registered or retaining the right to use a residential type property owned by individuals or legal entities on the basis of ownership. When conducting real estate transactions, a house book (or rather an extract from it) is also necessary, as well as other documents of title. To obtain an extract from the apartment book, you need to write a statement to the settlement and information center at the location of the property. House books are drawn up when registering the population in residential premises owned by citizens, and they are stored either in the housing department / housing cooperative (in apartment buildings), or in the hands of the owners of private houses. Without a house book, it will be difficult to carry out any actions of a legal nature (registration of someone in a residential building). The apartment (house) book is started in the following cases: privatization of housing, purchase of housing under other transactions (purchase and sale, inheritance, donation), and at the request of the buyer of the premises, the previous book can be left valid. The owner must purchase this document at his own expense. For registration of the house book, the following package of documents must be submitted to the FMS: passport, certificate of ownership of housing, title document (privatization agreement, barter, sale, gift, inheritance, etc.), extract from USRN. Since 2011, in a number of CIS countries (Kazakhstan, Belarus), home books have been canceled in order to reduce the document flow during the execution of legal documents and other documents.
