Starting conditions
Despite the development of human civilization, rudeness and cruelty remain in the surrounding reality. To withstand this kind of impact, a person needs to have physical strength. Nikita Vasilievich Melnikov came to the Greco-Roman wrestling section not by chance. He took an example from the elders and possessed optimal physical data. The boy imagined that sports are radically different from street brawls. Properly set the training process allowed him to achieve decent results.
The future world champion was born on June 27, 1987 in a sports family. At that time, parents lived in the famous city of Mine of the Rostov region. Father, USSR boxing master of sports, trained young athletes. Mother worked as a nurse in a clinic.
When he was seven years old, his father took his son to the section of the classical struggle. This decision was made after a thorough analysis of the source data. The head of the family came to the conclusion that, according to his bodily constitution, Nikita would rather engage in wrestling than boxing.

Sports achivments
At school Melnikov studied well. There weren’t enough stars from the sky, but he had a solid “four” in all subjects. The practical experience of performances began to accumulate at city and regional tournaments. It was not possible to bring all the fights on the carpet to victory. Rare defeats did not unsettle, but forced to mobilize and hone skill. In the late 90s, children began to get involved in taekwondo throughout the country. Nikita also watched with interest on television as athletes broke boards with their bare hands. After school, a promising wrestler moved to Krasnoyarsk and began to train at the Central Air Force Sports Club.
In 2010, Melnikov won first place in the Russian Championship. The following season he received a bronze medal at the Ivan Poddubny tournament. And in 2012 he was included in the national team. Nikita's sports career has developed quite successfully. At the World Championships in 2013, which took place in Budapest, the Russian wrestler climbed the highest step of the podium. At the European Championships 2016, Melnikov “took” gold. However, he did not get into the Olympic team because of an injury.
