Biography
The author and performer of such notorious hits as “Horse” and “Riding a Star”, was born on May 23, 1972 in the village of Vidnoe. The love of music was transmitted to him from his father, famous in the narrow circles of the musician. Borzov’s childhood passed under TheBeatles, LedZeppelin and other legendary rock bands.
Surprisingly, until the age of three, the boy did not have a name, and his relatives called him exclusively “baby”. There is a version that Nike is a pseudonym, but the musician himself claims that the name is real.
He was a difficult teenager. Studying at school, he preferred talking with friends and music. Parents tried to influence their child, but after another quarrel, the musician simply left home. Found him a couple of days later, in a friend’s apartment, suffering from a hangover. In order to avoid a recurrence of such a situation, the guy was given complete freedom of action, provided that he would live at home. Thus, the school was completely forgotten.
Career
Nike gathered his first rock band at age 14. "Infection, " as they were called, was a direct synonym for the words riot and shocking. For 4 years of collaboration, the guys released a couple of albums that did not go unnoticed.
In 1992, the musician begins a solo career, changing the style of music from punk to psychedelic rock. His composition "Horse" caused a very mixed reaction. Some radio stations even banned broadcasting it on air. They believed that Borzov was promoting drugs, because the song had a line: "A horse carrying cocaine." The singer himself repeatedly tried to explain the meaning inherent in this song. He compares a person who is stuck in an endless cycle of "home-work-home" with a workhorse, which depends on his obligations.
In 2000, he became the performer of the year according to the Maximum radio station, and his fifth album, recorded in 2002, was immediately recognized as the record of the year.
In 2003, he played a major role in the play "Nirvana" and the production was a huge success, and in 2010 released the film "Observer", where the singer talks about his activities over the past few years. To this day, he is a sought-after musician and collects concert halls, despite the fact that his compositions have become more positive, and elegance has come to the place of shocking.
