A man resorts to revenge when, because of anger, resentment, he wants to punish someone, to inflict significant harm on him both morally and physiologically - it depends on the principles. Most often, this action is considered lynching, is condemned in society, is considered illegal and petty. However, sometimes situations arise when the avenger is supported by all the people around him. Is this right or wrong? And is there any excuse for anger, resentment, rancor, and even murder?

The reasons for revenge are different for everyone - resentment against a loved one who betrayed love or friendship, anger at the boss, neighbor, envy due to lack of work, money, handsome appearance or figure. Sometimes, the factors pushing the offended or angry avenger to beating, violence, and murder are burning jealousy, temporary insanity from the loss, death of a child, husband, wife, and dear pet. And here, albeit unconsciously, there is no way to justify the offender, even if he defended his family, avenged the rapists, the drunk driver, and officials.
Reasons and premises of revenge
The word "revenge", for sure, is known to almost every adult. And even if someone never took revenge on neighbors, former friends and lovers, many situations from life can be remembered. For example, revenge on a motorist who parks on a lawn or playground often results in sticking notes with threats to the windshield, spoiling the paint or scratches. Revenge on the former guy often turns into slanderous rumors that have nothing even to do with reality. But these are petty dirty tricks.
In fiction and the writings of great classics one can find reasoning that revenge has been "cradled" for years, grown as a fragile plant. Yes, and the statements that everyone has heard on this topic are many, for example:
- revenge - a dish that is served cold;
- revenge - a slow poison that poisons the body;
- brother takes revenge for brother, and this is taken as a basis.
It’s one thing when they take revenge finely, stealthily, splashing a slop bucket over the neighbors' garden, or throwing poison to a dog that has bitten a drunk friend. Such actions usually cause others to censure, rejection, bewilderment, and even righteous anger. A man whose eyes burn with vengeful fire is sometimes scolded, beaten behind garages, and turned over to the police like a vandal. These cases of revenge do not justify, which is understandable to many.
But what if a parent takes revenge on a drunk driver who has shot down a child at a pedestrian crossing in an attack of insane grief? Or does a desperate mother throw a knife at her drug addict, putting all her hatred and resentment into the blow? Here, the attitude of society is twofold, and many even at least verbally justify the avenger, standing up for his defense. And even the great classics, whether it be Pushkin with the work "The Captain's Daughter" or Lermontov with the poem "Mtsyri", describe a person in such a way that he wants to intervene for him, to justify vindictive impulses and actions.
Differences in views
Many want to take revenge on the offender, make him suffer, and sometimes also lose his relatives, relatives, or say goodbye to his own life. And here, depending on the generally accepted opinions in society, there is a different attitude to the situation. Justification or censure depends on religious beliefs, nation, upbringing, own understanding of good and evil.
So, in the Christian religion it is customary to forgive a stumbled person, to absolve him of sins after repentance and mental suffering. After all, it is believed that only God can punish and punish.
In some countries, on the contrary, it is customary to pay revenge for the harm done, pain, and this is justified by society, and there are even certain “laws” that spell out the rules for a righteous avenger.
