Currently, Kazan is considered one of the most important centers of the Eurasian continent. We are not talking about the number of citizens living here or about industrial potential. The city concentrates around itself the cultural space of different countries and peoples. Historians, sociologists and politicians have yet to assess the significance of the capital for current and future civilization processes. The city received a powerful impetus for development at a time when Mintimer Sharipovich Shaimiev was at the head of the Republic of Tatarstan. Despite the difficult situation and political confusion, this man managed to direct the energy of creation in the right direction. Countrymen appreciated this contribution.
According to the record in the metric book, Mintimer was born on January 20, 1937 in a peasant family. All the ancestors of the boy were engaged in agriculture and cattle breeding. Father worked for more than a quarter century as chairman of a collective farm. Insightful sociologists believe that Shaimiev’s biography could not have developed in a different way. From young nails he was accustomed to work and to respect elders. Agriculture involved all people, from small to large, living in the district. The boy knew how to bridle a horse, how to care for a cow and sheep. Peasant work is uncomplicated, but requires a constant presence on the farmstead.
At school, Mintimer studied well. Having received a certificate of maturity, he enrolled in the mechanical faculty of the Kazan Agricultural Institute without outside help. Student years flew by quickly, but left their mark on his fate. In the last year, Shaimiev passed practical training in one of the regions of the republic. At the same time, a girl named Sakina came here to her parents after graduating from a technical school. Love arose, which is called at first sight. The young man did not hesitate for a long time and trusted his heart. Acquaintance happened calmly and decently. Parents approved the choice of a son and blessed the young.
Mintimer Shaimiev married once and for the rest of his life. Husband and wife lived in perfect harmony. According to the traditions of their ancestors, the head of the family was responsible for material well-being and for a healthy atmosphere in the house.
