Timeless in appearance and soul, Mikhail Zuharovich Shufutinsky recently celebrated his 70th anniversary. The singer was born in 1948 in Moscow and has Jewish roots. He lost his mother early, and his father was a doctor and devoted almost all his time to work. In this regard, Michael was raised by his grandparents. It was they who instilled in him a love of art, taught to sing and play the accordion.
From an early age, Mikhail Shufutinsky attended a music school, where he ended up in the accordion class. At the age of 15, he became seriously interested in jazz, the popularity of which at that time in the country was only emerging. Career

At the same time, growing disagreement with the Soviet regime forced Shufutinsky to emigrate to the United States, where he settled in New York. There he performed in restaurants, creating his own Ataman orchestra, and wrote the first album, Escape, which was released in 1983.
It is the first disc with such hits as "Winter Evening" and "Taganka" that will later glorify the singer in his abandoned homeland. In addition, having recorded the album, Mikhail finally chose the chanson as his musical direction. His performances gathered in full halls not only in New York, but also in Los Angeles, and after the collapse of the USSR, the chansonnier began to go on tour to Russia, where he was already listened with pleasure.
Mikhail Shufutinsky performed not only songs of his own composition, but also works from the repertoire of Alexander Rosenbaum, Vyacheslav Dobrynin, Igor Krutoy and other famous composers. It is the latter who is the author of the sensational composition "Third of September", thanks to which Mikhail Zakharovich is well known and remembered to this day.
