Biography and career of Mikhail Andreyevich Gluzsky
On November 21, 1918, in the capital of Ukraine, the future artist was born into the family of a distinguished revolutionary. At the age of four, the family moved to Moscow due to the death of his father. And then there was Baku because of the repeated marriage of the mother and the return to the capital of our Motherland at the age of eleven. Michael grew up a mischievous boy who even got registered with the police. However, after an amateur club began working in their house, he immediately set about trying to become an artist.
After graduating from a comprehensive school, Gluzsky tried unsuccessfully to enroll in theatrical educational institutions of Moscow, studied at an evening school and got a job as an electrician. And in 1936, luck smiled, and the purposeful young man was accepted into the acting studio at Mosfilm. He graduated in 1940 and was immediately called up for military service, from where he went to war.
Since 1946, Mikhail Andreevich for forty years was a member of the troupe of the Theater Studio of a film actor, on the stage of which he shone in many theater projects. At this time, theatergoers were most pleased with the productions with his participation "Old Friends", "Dowry", "Ivan Vasilievich" and many others. Sometimes he was invited to the Yermolova Theater and Sovremennik. And from 1995 until the very end, the popular actor went on the stage of the School of the Modern Play.
Mikhail Gluzsky’s cinematic debut took place in 1939 with episodic roles in the films Girl with Character and Minin and Pozharsky. And next year he was already accepted into the staff of Mosfilm. After the release of the legendary movie "Quiet Flows the Don" (1957-1958), the aspiring actor became truly famous throughout the country. His filmography during his lifetime managed to fill up with almost one hundred and fifty film works, many of which are now deservedly included in the Golden Fund of Russian Cinema.
