Marianna Tsoi was a producer, writer, artist and public figure. Her name is very familiar to fans of the Kino group: Marianne was the official wife of Viktor Tsoi. After the death of the artist, Marianne was engaged in the release of previously unreleased compositions "Cinema", a monument to Tsoi on the Arbat in Moscow was erected under her leadership.
In 1959, Marianna (Mariana) Kovaleva, who is better known as Marianna Tsoi, was born in Leningrad. She was born on March 5th. The girl’s mother was Inna Golubeva, and her father was Igor Kovalev.
early years
To date, there are no details about how Marianne's life went on in childhood and adolescence.
It is known that Marianna Tsoi received her basic education in a regular school. At an older age, she became interested in creativity, began to paint, study painting. However, in the end, she did not connect her life with drawing. However, creativity and art in one form or another still figured in the life of Marianne all the time.
Her friends and acquaintances considered the girl quite wealthy. This impression was formed because Marianne at a young age already earned quite good money by those standards, knew how to dress beautifully and stylishly and present herself in society. After receiving school education, the girl got a job at the circus. And at the age of twenty, she was already appointed to the post of head of the production department.
In a certain sense, the fateful event in the life of Marianne was the acquaintance with Victor Tsoi. This happened even before the Kino group became a really popular group. The subsequent life of Marianne was closely connected precisely with Victor, with work with the musical collective.
Personal life and facts from the biography
Marianne's first husband was a man named Vladimir Rodovansky. The wedding took place when the girl was only 19 years old. She decided to take such a step, first of all, under the influence of her parents, who were very negative about the idea of cohabiting young people, and did not approve of the civil marriage format. However, in the end, relations with Vladimir ended and the couple divorced.
After Marianne met Viktor Tsoi, a romantic relationship began to develop between them. Along with the development of a romance with a rock musician, Marianne began to promote the group "Cinema". She worked as a producer and administrator, agreed on the performances of the team, solved financial issues and so on. Much later, Marianne openly spoke, saying that she was deeply sorry for the time spent. Despite her interest in music and art, in love with Tsoi, Marianna always wanted to take care of her life, develop, and get a higher education.
In 1984, Marianne officially became the wife of Viktor Tsoi and took his last name. In marriage, they lived until the death of the musician; however, in the last years of Tsoi’s life, their relationship was already conditional: Tsoi had a new romantic affection and in 1987 he left the family. The divorce of the couple did not apply. In marriage, a son was born to Victor and Marianne, who was named Alexander. However, today there are rumors that the child was not from Victor at all, but from the next - already civil - husband of Marianne, with whom she lived until the end of her life.
When Marianne Tsoi was already far from thirty years old, she entered St. Petersburg State University. After some time, she graduated with a specialist diploma, graduating from the Faculty of Oriental Studies. It happened in 1999. At the same time, in addition to mastering the Japanese language, Marianna Tsoi independently learned English, began working as a translator, and returned to her passion from her youth - to painting.
Marianne owned half of the copyright in the music, lyrics and albums of the Kino group. After Victor’s death, when the collective eventually ceased to exist, Marianna Tsoi was involved in publishing previously unreleased Kino tracks, managed the KINOproby project, wrote two books about Viktor, and also starred in several documentaries about Tsoi and the Kino group.
