Biography
Rosa Ivanovna Makagonova was born in 1927 in Samara in a simple family.
Since childhood, she loved poetry. At school evenings, Rosa read poetry with inspiration. She performed with pleasure in the club when she was invited. A young schoolgirl went on stage in a beautiful dress when there was no heating in the hall. She tried to look spectacular, like a real actress, although she trembled from the cold. Even then, Rosa dreamed that she would become an artist.
When the Great Patriotic War began, Rosa was fourteen years old. After studying at school, she went to the hospital, helping to care for the wounded.
At the end of school, the girl went to Moscow to enter VGIK. Rose successfully passed the exams. She was accepted on the course of Sergei Yutkevich and Mikhail Romm.
After the third year, Rosa Makagonova married Vladimir Basov, who studied at the directing department of the same institute.
In 1951, Rosa Makagonova graduated from VGIK and became an actress in the theater-studio of the film actor.
She starred in all the films of her husband.
In 1957, Rosa divorced her husband and began working with other directors.
Her career was successful until 1962, but an insidious disease prevented her creative plans. The actress was sick with tuberculosis. For ten years, she had to leave her favorite job and engage in treatment.
In 1976, she received the title of Honored Artist of the RSFSR.
The final work of the actress in the movie - the role of the grandmother in the film "Your fingers smell like incense" in 1983.
In the last years of her life, Rosa wrote poetry and memoirs about the actors with whom her life brought together. She wrote an article about Leonid Bykov for the centenary of cinema. In memory of Nikolai Kryuchkov, Makagonova published an article in the Niva Rossii magazine.
Very soon, in 1995, the actress died. She died at the age of 67.
Creation
Rose received her first film role when she was 20 years old. At that time, she was still studying at the Institute of Cinematography. It was the film "Country Teacher" in which she played the role of a schoolgirl. Then she was offered roles in the films "Far from Moscow, " and "Alyosha Ptitsyn develops a character."
In 1954, the film “The School of Courage” by Vladimir Basov and Mstislav Korchagin was released. This picture was shot based on the story by Arkady Gaidar "School". At the Karlovy Vary Film Festival, the tape received an award for the best educational film, and Rose Makagonova gained popularity.
Since 1956, the actress starred a lot. Having finished work in the movie novel "Ordinary Man", without rest she began filming in another film. With her participation, the paintings "Soldier's Heart" and "Flags on the Towers" were published. During 1959, she starred in three films.
In 1962, work was completed on the film "The Sixteenth Spring." But again, the disease did not allow her to do what she loved.
Rose began to be treated. Since she needed long-term therapy, for ten years the actress was forced to quit her career. They begin to forget it a little.
Since 1979, Rosa Makagonova returned to the cinema. She starred in episodic roles.
