Childhood, youth
Lyubov Belykh was born in 1961 in Kostroma. She was born in the family of artists Nadezhda and Alexei Belykh. From childhood, the girl was accustomed to look at the beautiful, to notice the beauty in what surrounded her. She watched her parents draw. The elder sister Vera played musical instruments. She was a professional musician. Lyuba's parents never tried to influence her life choices. Belykh admitted that her father even discouraged her from choosing the profession of an artist. He wanted her daughter to get a good education, and painting would be just a hobby for her. Only after the mother and father saw that their daughter had extraordinary abilities did they allow her to attend art school.
Lyubov Belykh studied from 1974 to 1979 at the Moscow Secondary Art School at the Moscow State Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov. She graduated from it successfully and the teachers even at that time noticed that the girl has talent. After school, Love went to Petersburg, which was then called Leningrad. She passed the entrance exams to the institute very successfully, having received the highest score. It is worth noting that such an assessment is a rarity. Teachers put it only in exceptional cases. From 1980 to 1986, Lyubov studied at the Leningrad Institute. I.E. Repin, in the workshop of monumental painting. During training, Belykh proved to be a talented and very creative person. Studying in a workshop of monumental painting was prestigious. In addition to working in the main direction, students studied various materials, performed architectural drawings for sketching compositions, performed fragments of these compositions in materials. Belykh painted unusually beautiful paintings and already in 1980 her first solo exhibition was held. Most of the work was written in 1979 during a joint trip with his father to an academic cottage in the Tver region. Love painted portraits, genre scenes, still lifes, so the first solo exhibition was very diverse.
Career
After graduation, Belykh's love began to work actively. She worked in the creative workshops of the USSR Academy of Arts in Moscow. At home, she also painted. Since 1988, Lyubov became a member of the USSR Union of Photographers. Belykh's early works reflected his impressions of traveling to France, Italy, and the island of Crete. In an interview, Love admitted that inspiration visits her when she recalls her childhood and youth. In front of her there are images of those years and I want to create, reproduce genre pictures on canvas. Inspiration usually arises suddenly, carrying away to work on a picture, in the search for new compositional solutions, plastic forms, color schemes.
Belykh's love is an unusually modest and even closed person. The beginning of her creative career fell on a very difficult time. During the years of perestroika, there were almost no government orders for artists. Many of them went into commerce. But Lyubov Belykh did not follow the path of indulging the not always good taste of the general public, did not paint to order, which at that time was common. She concentrated on creative work and this decision turned out to be right. Today Lyubov Belykh is a recognized master of portraiture, landscape, and genre painting.
All landscape works of Belys are permeated with love for nature. And this is not a far-fetched feeling, but a true worship of the artist before the greatness of nature. In portrait works, Lyubov Alekseevna always seeks to reveal the character of the person depicted on the canvas. And she does it very well. Genre paintings dedicated to the theme of childhood are imbued with warmth and love. All works carry signs of high taste of the author, the desire for individual creativity.
In his paintings, Belykh often depicts children and adolescents with a guitar. As a child, she was fond of music, her sister played the piano and other instruments beautifully, so this topic is very close to her. Lyubov Alekseevna believes that the guitar is not only sonorous, but also an unusually beautiful instrument that can harmoniously fit into any frame.
