The hero of the book “This is What is Scattered from Basseynaya Street” - a collective, hyperbolic image of all scattered people. The hero has neither a name nor a surname. His age is unknown. It remains a mystery how he looks: whether he is brunette, whether he is blonde, with a beard, with glasses.
Initially, Marshak picked up a surname with a shoe theme for his hero. He could become Kablukov or Bashmakov. Later he decided to give him a surname consonant with the main quality of the hero - distraction.
In each edition, artists depict him differently. He is not busy with anything. It is not known whether he has work, whether he conducts some kind of social activity. The author tells only about incidents related to his diffused nature. In general, Marshak created a charming image of a cute, harmless eccentric. All his eccentricities look stupid. A scattered man is surrounded around him by people laughing at him.
The poem about Broken from Basseinaya Street was published in 1930. It has been reprinted 11 times and is considered the most popular work of Marshak. In 1975, TO "Screen" released the eponymous cartoon.
People laugh not evil, but kindly, from the heart. Even the character’s speech is full of ridiculous reservations. For example, his appeal to the tram driver is: “Dear, deeply respectful! By all means I need to get out. Is it possible to stop the train at the tram?”
