The history of bra
Women have tried to cover their breasts since ancient times. Initially, the fair sex did not try to raise or make her more attractive. As a bra, special dressings made of fabric or leather were used. Their main goal was to provide comfort when moving and cover intimate places. Similar armbands can be seen on the most ancient images of Egypt, Ancient Greece and Rome. Even female deities were portrayed with such accessories in the chest area.
There are several varieties of so-called “smart underwear”. Bras are equipped with special sensors that allow you to control the level of pressure and heart rate.
Despite the fact that the bandages partly played the role of modern bras, it is difficult to call them the predecessors of this variety of underwear. This is due to the Middle Ages. The fact is that it was during this period that improved female accessories appeared - corsets. Now the function of this element of the wardrobe is not so much providing comfort as giving elegance to the figure and emphasizing the female silhouette. Corset was also worn by men, but only to mask the flaws of the figure.
Thanks to such an adaptation, the body became more slender and fit. Comfortable corsets can be called quite problematic. There are cases when women fainted from excessive pulling of their magnificent forms.
By the way, for this reason, corsets were banned in the 19th century. This event was the reason for the development of a new wardrobe item that not only supported the chest, but at the same time would be comfortable and not harmful to health. So the first bras appeared. The upper part was made similar to the principle of the corset, and the straps were an innovation, which allowed women not to feel discomfort from the falling element of underwear.
