Biography
The future athlete was born in July 1993 on the 17th in the Russian city of Labytangi. Kristina from an early age was an active child and loved sports. In the polar town, the choice of sections was not very large, and the girl was recorded in the ski section. Christine really enjoyed skiing, and the trainers saw in her a good potential. Later it was decided to reveal this creative talent in biathlon, and the girl was transferred to the local youth sports school, where children were trained in this sport. The first mentor of the future biathlete was the famous honored coach of Russia Hamit Akhatov, a biathlete himself in the past.
Under the guidance of an experienced teacher, Christina quickly opened up and outgrew the local level of competition. In high school, she moved to the city of Tyumen, where she began performing at domestic tournaments in Russia, representing the Tyumen region at competitions.
Professional career
Despite the early successes and high results at the junior level, Ilchenko for a long time could not advance higher. Performances inside the country - this was the maximum, but the girl was not invited to the national team.
The debut at the international level took place in 2014, when the girl was invited to the national team to participate in the European Championship. The joy of the long-awaited event was short-lived, Ilchenko's results were extremely low: in the pursuit race she took only ninth place, and in the sprint, she was at all fifteenth.
The following year, Christina as part of the team participated in the Winter Universiade, where the results were also low. In the mass start she took only the fifteenth position, but in the sprint the picture looked better: the girl, starting from 26th place, finished the race sixth.
At the adult level, she continued to play in the domestic championships of Russia, and here the success was more noticeable. Ilchenko is not distinguished by a high level of shooting, but he is one of the fastest skiers in the country, than she often compensated for her misses at competitions. In 2015, Kristina won her first medal at the national championship.
In the same year, the girl received an unusual offer: she was invited to play for the national team of Belarus. In November, she took part in the World Cup, where she took 54th place in the pursuit race. Today it is the best result of an athlete in her career.
