Starting position
To perform songs, a person needs voice and hearing. Many naturally gifted people, but not everyone chooses a career as a musician. The future leader of the famous ensemble Severin Kraevsky was born on January 3, 1947 in the small village of Nova Sul. After some time, the family moved to the legendary city of Sopot. Severin’s childhood passed here. At that time, Poland rose from the ruins after a devastating war. Consumer goods in stores were issued by coupons. Mother worked alone to feed her two sons.
At school, Kraevsky studied well. At the same time he attended classes at a music school, where he studied the violin. With great difficulty, the boy managed to get a guitar on which he began to perform sketches of his own composition. With absolute pitch and rich imagination, Severin quickly mastered the set program. Even within the walls of the school, it was not his work that senior comrades paid attention to. After completing his education, he accepted the invitation and began to play in the band "Notny Stan".
On the wave of success
Over time, in the early 60s, musical groups of different genres began to appear in Poland. Severin systematically worked on new melodies and arrangements of already popular songs. With his perseverance and results, Kraevsky gained appreciation, both among fellow composers and among performers. At one point, the musician became a member of the Chervona Guitars band. For several years he was considered a guitarist, in 1970 he was elected the leader of the group.
Kraevsky considered his collective no worse than European and American ensembles. Polish musicians, unwillingly and not noticing, conveyed the Slavic foundation in their melodies. When the group was invited to tour in the Soviet Union, the guys grew a bit overwhelmed, but happily agreed. Conducted a thorough preparation. Debut performance took place in Moscow. Guitar Reds immediately felt the sincere love of the public. The audience enthusiastically sang along with the guests.
