Biography
Konstantin Rasskazov was born in 1907 in the village of Semily, which at that time was part of the Penza province. Now this is the territory of Mordovia. The family of Konstantin belonged to the peasant milieu. Stories early left without a father - he died when the boy was seven years old. Therefore, Kostya began working on the railway to help the family.
Konstantin graduated from the first four classes of the school in his village. Received further education at the Poltava military-political school.
He took part in the dispossession process - in 1929 he was authorized on this issue in the village of Stary Turdaki. Such work was difficult psychologically and morally. Rasskazov was constantly faced with threats. Because of this, he often did not come home for the night so as not to endanger the family.
Konstantin Ivanovich was drafted into the ranks of the Red Army in 1929, the place of conscription was the city of Kiev. Here he was offered to continue the service overtime. After brief discussions with his wife, he remained in the city to serve.
After studying the program of a military school in Poltava (in 1935), Razkazov moved with his family to Odessa. In this city, he served in the officer rank until 1941.
With the outbreak of World War II, Konstantin was drafted into the Red Army by the Odessa City Military Committee and participated in hostilities from the first days.
Contribution to Victory
Narratives participated in operations on the Southern, Stalingrad and South-Western fronts. For all the time suffered two wounds.
Konstantin Ivanovich contributed to the defense of Stalingrad and Odessa. He headed the supply platoon of the rifle battalion (1116th rifle regiment). In December 1942, his subordinates in difficult combat conditions provided food for the advancing units near Stalingrad. In the rank of foreman for this work, he was awarded the medal "For Military Merit".
In 1943, Rasskazov was sent to refresher courses for officers. After their graduation, Konstantin was entrusted with the command of the rifle company.
Stories took part in the Offensive operation in the Krivoy Rog direction. In the fall of 1943, fierce battles took place on the Dnieper. The German units were retreating, but at some point they were consolidated in concrete shelters on the banks. In addition, fresh forces and new equipment arrived. On one of the sections of this front, Rasskazov also fought with his company.
In the fall of 1943, the company of K. I. Rasskazov was able to cross the river, destroy two easel machine guns. The soldiers delved into the rear of the enemy for 4 kilometers, putting a lot of fascists. And although it was not possible to develop a further attack, Rasskazov was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the first degree for this operation .

A month later, units of the Red Army on this stretch relocated and began preparations for the new stage of crossing the Dnieper. The company of senior lieutenant Rasskazov was the first to cross the river and knock the enemy out of trenches. They again managed to delve into the location of German troops for almost four kilometers. The soldiers held the bridgehead and covered the crossing of the remaining forces, although the enemy outnumbered them several times. To maintain his position, Rasskazov repeatedly had to use psychic attacks - he personally got up from the trench and shouted "For Homeland!" raised his fighters. On November 27, the company developed another counterattack - Rasskazov's subordinates managed not only to maintain their positions, but also to facilitate the crossing of the main parts of the Red Army across the Dnieper. It was in this battle that Konstantin Ivanovich Rasskazov died at the age of 36.
The Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR in February 1944 noted the prowess of Senior Lieutenant K. I. Rasskazov and awarded him the title of Hero of the Soviet Union posthumously.

Konstantin Ivanovich married in 1927 to Maria Samuilovna Tyukova. A year after the wedding, the couple had a son, Alexander.
