Prior to the world premiere of the psychological thriller "The Call", Japanese horror literature in Europe and America had little interest. But after the release, the name Koji Suzuki turned into a star. The writer has become one of the most widely read contemporaries.
Japanese writer Koji Suzuki calls himself a happy person. According to him, luck always accompanies him in everything. The childhood was happy, parents never punished the son. The future famous author identified three main tasks at ten years old.
Creation of the main work
He decided to become a writer and create a bestseller. This has been achieved. The second task was to marry your first love. It has also been implemented. Ahead is only the intersection on a yacht of the Pacific Ocean.
The biography of the future writer began in 1957, in Hamamatsu province, on May 13. The boy showed humanitarian ability early. After graduating from school, Suzuki went to study in French Literature at Keio University.
The first novel "Rakuen" was created in 1990. The author received many prestigious national awards for his creation. Reviews of the book of critics and readers were positive. Kozdi continued his literary work with the writing of world-famous books under the general title "The Call".
A trilogy was published in the first half of the nineties. In 1999, the prequel "Call. Birth." In addition to the legendary cycle, which became the basis for many programs and films, Suzuki composed "Walk of the Gods" and "Dark Waters", which became bestsellers.
Japanese horror literature is unique and complex. It is based on national mythology. To her, the Japanese have special respect. All Koji novels infiltrate popular beliefs. Thanks to them, books not only gained a special charm, atmosphere, but also a certain motive and even a template by which events develop.
It is generally accepted that the most favorable time for meeting signs is night. More reliable contact with representatives of the other world is facilitated by the presence of water. It can be any body of water, well, river, even fog or wet snow. This is clearly shown in the most famous novel "The Bell" and in "Dark Waters". In the latter, even the name is speaking.
National features
In literature, it is customary to create all genres, whether comedies or dramas, according to a certain structure. In turn, its foundation is formed by the culture of a particular country. American horror almost always ends with a happy ending. The evil in them is defeated, the main character is alive and rewarded. A few European horror stories adhere to the same development stereotype.
Japanese horror literature does not know a similar pattern. The protagonists may survive, but may die. And evil will not go anywhere. It continues to dwell in the world of people, constantly disturbing everyone who dares to touch it.
"Call" is becoming an excellent educational tool for anyone who knows little about such stories. Koji skillfully sets out the very moment of interference in the usual way of life of mysticism and some evil. The main work begins with the death of several people. The reason is quite certain, it is heart failure. There is nothing supernatural in it.
The uncle of one of the victims is journalist Kazuyuki Asakawa. He decides on his own investigation. In his course, he finds out that the cause was a virus that hit everyone in one day. All the deceased four weeks ago visited the Pacific Land tourist complex.
Asakawa immediately goes there. He takes the number in which the guys lived a few days ago. The manager tells the journalist that the company watched the video stored in the hotel. Kazuyuki is also watching a video. He is astounded by him.
Asakawa makes a copy. He shows her friend Ryūji Takayama. Accidentally, the cassette is in the hands of the wife and child of the latter. Takayama understands that it’s worth finding out who recorded the video and how did it. Friends manage to find out that the author was the dead Sadako Yamamura. The girl possessed the ability to transfer imaginary things to material carriers by the power of thought. Asakawa and Takayume it becomes clear that in order to destroy the curse, it is necessary to give Sadako spirit peace, reburial of its remains.
