Since ancient times, in the waters of the oceans there has not been a more terrible and deadly predator than a shark. Powerful jaws, razor-sharp teeth in several rows, the tremendous speed, strength and bloodthirstiness of this fish often attracted writers and filmmakers. Many marine-themed scenes include shark episodes. Films where the "thunder of the seas" - the main character is quite a lot.

Jaws
Apart are the "Jaws" of Steven Spielberg. At the heart of this action-packed horror film is a person’s unconscious fear of the ferocious power of the cannibal shark and its thirst for blood. The film was released in 1975 and was a stunning success. Cash collection around the world exceeded the tape budget by almost 70 times. At that time, it was a huge amount of money for a cheap "horror" filmed for just $ 7 million. A few years later, in the wake of the wild popularity of the first film, the sequels were shot - "Jaws 2" (1978), "Jaws 3" (1983), "Jaws 4" (1987). In addition, in 1996 in India, the disastrous film Jaws was shot with a similar plot, and in 1999, 2001 and 2002, the list was supplemented by a series of films with the trivial name Sharks. However, none of them had even half the success of Spielberg's Jaws.
The only type of shark that filmmakers use in their films is the great white shark. It is attributed to her frequent attacks on people. In films, the bloodthirstiness and gluttony of one individual are brought to the point of absurdity by the directors.
Real stories
It is believed that the film "Open Sea" (2003) is based on real events. The plot focuses on a young couple who came on vacation who decided to entertain themselves with an underwater excursion, but by tragic accident, the guide-divers forgot them in the middle of the sea. Two tired mountain tourists were left face to face with sea monsters in complete darkness, until dawn they did not survive. The picture somewhat surprised and frightened the viewer, and in 2010 it was decided to shoot "The Open Sea: New Victims." The continuation of the film had nothing to do with the first part, the main line is a shipwreck, people in the water far from the coast and a flock of sharks. You can also watch Drift (2006), Soul Surfer (2011), and Blood Surfing (2000) on this subject.
Mass attacks on people did occur in shipwrecks and crashes of passenger aircraft. In all other cases, sharks do not seek to eat people.
Prehistoric sharks
Sharks 3: Megalodon (2002), Megalodon (2002), Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus (2009), Mega Shark Against Crocosaurus (2010), Perfect killer "(2011) and" Jurassic Shark "(2012) - talk about the dream of cryptozoologists: the existence of the remains of a population of ancient sharks, the ancestors of the great white shark in hidden underground oceans. The very idea of films is very interesting, and, taking into account modern technologies and computer capabilities, it was possible to make worthy and breathtaking pictures. However, the films turned out to be weak, boring dialogues, with mediocre musical accompaniment and graphics at the level of a third-rate computer game. It is hoped that the next film - “Mega Shark vs. Mech Shark” (2014) - will delight the viewer with the scale of filming and beautiful shark battles.
At the beginning of the 21st century, two megalodon teeth dated to 10-15 thousand years were found in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean. By geological standards, this is practically "yesterday", the sensation generated a wave of interest in this extinct species.
Mutant Sharks
In 1999, director Rennie Harlin released the thriller Deep Blue Sea, which became the ancestor of films about mutant sharks. The picture tells us that initially the experiment pursued a very specious goal - to defeat Alzheimer's disease. But, as is usually the case in such films, the "evil" escaped from the laboratory, and a brutal marine predator with human intellect turned out to be in the wild. Thriller recouped the cost of production, but did not stand on a par with other similar films about animal experiments. Later similar tapes were shot: "Predator Instinct" (2004) and "Shark-Man" (2005), which did not become particularly famous. Shark octopus - tells the story of a monstrous mutant with tentacles - a hybrid of a white shark and an octopus, although the film didn’t explain in such a way how such a creature was born. But the shark from the film “Threat from the Deep” (2012) boasts not just one, but two whole toothy heads.
Unexpected habitats
If you are convinced that you can only meet a shark in the open sea, you are deeply mistaken. It turns out that she lives in the snow, in the air, on the ground and in grocery stores. Of this category, “Tsunami 3D” (2011) is the most appropriate: during the powerful tsunami, a large shopping center was flooded and sharks appeared in the waters of the supermarket. The rest of the films with frankly funny stories tell that sharks can suddenly appear in the snow of the mountains ("Mountain Sharks" in 2013), in coastal sands ("Sand Sharks" in 2011), and also about what monstrous consequences can bring sharks to Los Angeles, abandoned by a strong hurricane from the waters of the Pacific Ocean (Shark Tornado 2013).
