"Not that youth today! Now in our time
“Some probably heard these complaints from older people, who, as young, probably heard something similar from their own parents and grandparents. And what are the young people of Russia now, what are her hobbies, values?
Instruction manual
1
Representatives of the older generation are often convinced that modern youth has lost their hands, that is, they behave differently, wear the wrong clothes, listen to the wrong music, and get carried away by it. All people, regardless of age, are different, so there are no averaged, stereotyped indicators related to youth. Nevertheless, the results of opinion polls and studies make it possible to judge what is important for modern young people and how they prefer to spend their free time.
2
The vast majority of youth simply cannot imagine life without a computer. They spend many hours daily in various forums or blogs, conduct discussions (sometimes very emotional), or are addicted to computer games. Sometimes they are so captivated by virtual life that they can hardly distinguish it from reality. And this can lead to negative consequences.
3
Young people pay much attention to communicating with friends, like-minded people. And not only on the Internet, but also live, for example, in clubs, or participating in role-playing games. The most popular topics for conversation among youth: music, cars, fashion, hobbies and entertainment.
4
Modern youth, unlike their peers since the USSR, attaches great importance to material well-being. Many young people want to get high-paying jobs and make a good career. Moreover, if the so-called "golden youth" relies on the help of influential parents or other relatives, their other peers rely on their own strength. Some students study hard to become good specialists, and even before graduation they are looking for a place for their future work.
5
Today's youth reads much less than before. Alas, the proud title of the most reading country, once rightfully owned by the USSR, its successor, Russia did not inherit.
6
The same applies to physical education, sports. Compared with the times of the USSR, the number of young people who are physically weak and have a whole bunch of health problems has risen sharply. This is partly due to a sedentary lifestyle, due to the enthusiasm for the same Internet. Nevertheless, recently the situation has begun to change for the better. This was largely facilitated by the triumphal performance of the Russian team at the Sochi Winter Home Olympics, which aroused youth interest in sports.
