Instruction manual
1
Great lessons of courage and patriotism can be obtained through studying the life of the people during the Great Patriotic War. Record children in municipal libraries. There you can take books to your home for free. Read together how the inhabitants of besieged Leningrad did not die, but did not surrender to the enemy. From books, children learn how their peers worked in factories with adults, how they cooked, collected firewood to support family life. Teenagers and children should know what toys were in the war and post-war years.
2
Boys need examples of heroic deeds. Tell us about the professions of scouts, firefighters, doctors, sailors. In the Soviet years, excellent films were shot on these topics. It is impossible to educate a citizen if you show teenagers films about bandits, violence, murders. Despite the fact that physical labor is valued cheaply, it’s useful to watch old films to instill pride in work, whatever it may be.
3
You should study the history of the country in difficult years for it. You need to know how to restore homes, enterprises. The post-war years are an example of the dedicated work of ordinary people. Children should understand that their grandfathers and great-grandfathers worked so hard. On such examples, respect for the work of others is brought up.
4
Help the children learn about the sporting achievements of the country. Tell us about outstanding gymnasts, wrestlers, hockey players. Listen to sports songs. Tell us that now the honor of the country is protected by athletes annually. Show the frames on which the national anthem sounds during the awarding of the winners of the Olympics.
5
A citizen of the country must know the life of the people in different eras. Give children knowledge about the work of artists, writers, composers who worked at different times. Show how people walked in bast shoes, slept in dugouts. Explain why poets, artists paid attention to this.
note
Teach children to stand up for the weak, to express an opinion. Civic pride is manifested not in home conversations, but in public life.
Useful advice
A citizen must lead an active life in society. Help the children find a place where they will benefit. Let them make wall newspapers, participate in competitions.
