Any Orthodox Christian should show a special love for his loved ones in his home. It is wonderful if the spirit of the family and its community is held together by prayer at the home iconostasis. First you need to decide which icons must be in the house.

The icon of the Savior and the icon of the Mother of God are two images that must necessarily be in the home of an Orthodox Christian.

Icon of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker - this saint is especially revered in Russian Orthodoxy. His image is very common in Orthodox families.

Let your name icon in your iconostasis be an image of your heavenly patron.

If there is a sick person in your house, or in general you want to pray for health, you can put in the iconostasis the image of mother Matrona, the healer Panteleimon.

If you often offer prayers for success in professional activities, you can place in the iconostasis an icon of a saint who patronizes your profession.

It is also always good to place the image of the Guardian Angel in the iconostasis.

If your region has a revered local saint, it is advisable to place his image in the iconostasis.

Study the lives of the saints, and let your heart tell you which of the saints you need to place in your iconostasis.

When arranging the icons, there is a hierarchy principle: do not place the icon of the saint, who, for example, is venerated in your area over the icon of the Holy Trinity, Savior, Virgin, Apostles.
