No one is insured against an accident. If a loved one or relative has suddenly disappeared, you should immediately start looking for him. It is possible that information about him is already available in the relevant databases.
Instruction manual
1
Call the Accident Registration Office (BRNS) in your city. The unified database of the BRNS contains all the information about people who went to hospitals and morgues or were detained by police officers. Tell the operator in detail about what happened and get acquainted with the information for the past day available to the BRNS.
2
Contact the ambulance service, which may have more up-to-date information about all those who arrived at the hospital and were taken to the morgues. Please note that your loved one might not have any documents with you.
3
If you have not received the information you need from the BRNS, or if this institution has not yet opened in your city, contact the department of internal affairs at the place of residence of the missing person. Do not wait until three days have passed since it is against the law (especially with regard to children and disabled citizens). If you are denied an application, contact the prosecutor.
4
Make a statement addressed to the head of the Department of Internal Affairs. Indicate in it the name of the missing person, his age, approximate height and weight, special signs. Attach a photograph, best of all, to a recent one, in seasonal clothing. Check that the application was not only accepted, but also registered. Only then will the police really begin operational investigative measures, the results of which should be immediately reported to you.
5
If you are sure that your relative was the victim of a crime, not an accident, send a statement to the prosecutor to initiate a criminal case. However, you will need serious evidence to get the case going. Remember if there were any threats to your relative, everything was in order at his work, or if he has recently had large sums of money. It is possible that he often had to return late from work or school late. Tell the investigator about all this.
6
If you have the means, you can turn to private detectives. Provide them with all the information you have about this person and wait for the results of the investigation.
