Deputies of the State Duma are representatives of voters in the lower house of parliament. By law, a citizen of the Russian Federation over 21 years old and having the right to participate in elections can become a deputy of the State Duma. Deputies are forbidden to combine work in the Duma with commercial activities or other types of employment, with the exception of scientific work and teaching. Duma elections are held every 5 years.

Based on all the provisions of the procedure for forming the Duma, in order to become a deputy, you must be a member of one of the registered political parties or be a member of the electoral bloc. Elections are held in all regions of the country, and regional branches of political parties get seats in parliament in proportion to the votes cast. Lists of candidates are formed on the basis of internal party voting. Naturally, the leader of the list of chances to become a deputy is much more than those who are not even in the top ten.

Active party activity will give you the opportunity to take a high place in the list of candidates, which, in turn, will provide a chance to become a deputy. At the same time, it is advisable to get a political or economic education, have experience in public speaking and debating, since during the election campaign you will have to use all your abilities to win the confidence of voters.
