Instruction manual
1
Keep fasting that begins 40 days before Easter. Do not smoke or drink alcohol these days. Do not eat animal products (such as meat, fish, eggs and milk), as well as white bread, rolls, sweets and mayonnaise.
2
Eat plant foods (vegetables, fruits and dried fruits), various pickles (sauerkraut, pickled and pickles), dried, crackers, mushrooms, brown bread, nuts, cereals on the water, drink tea and jelly. On Palm Sunday and on the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary is allowed to eat some fish. Do not fast for the elderly, sick, pregnant and children.
3
The last week before Easter is called Holy and has the most severe dietary restrictions and many traditions. Do not sing or dance these days.
4
On Monday, prepare your home for Easter: paint, wash, and clean everything you need. Prepare clothes and wash clothes on Tuesday. On Wednesday, complete all chores. Finish cleaning and take out all the trash. Prepare eggs for dyeing.
5
The main rites, actions and signs relate to Clean Thursday. Before dawn, wash your body, ridding yourself of all ailments and protecting yourself from troubles. Bake Easter cakes. Make a passionate candle that will protect your home from fire, and its inhabitants from disease. This fire should burn until Easter. Take a lit candle to the service and try not to let the fire go out on the way to the church and on the way back to the house.
6
Do not eat anything on Friday, do not sing, do not listen to music, do not sew, do not wash. All this is considered a very great sin. This is the saddest day of the week, because it was on Friday that Christ died.
7
On Saturday, prepare everything for the Easter meal: color the eggs and make other traditional dishes with which you will treat your relatives.
8
Easter itself begins at midnight between Great Saturday and bright Sunday. Go to a church service and consecrate groceries. After that, greet all the words "Christ is risen." In response, they will say: "Truly risen."
