Living in a country where 75 percent of people consider themselves to be the Orthodox Church, some are wondering: why were they baptized in childhood without being allowed to make their own choices? And although this choice has already been made, freedom of religion is one of the benefits of a civilized society. Thus, it turns out that sometimes an adult wants to change his religion to some other religion that is more suitable for him in his worldview. So, the question arises: how to change religion?

Instruction manual
1
Think about this step well. Think about all the flaws of the religion you want to give up, and then all the benefits of the faith you want to come to. It may well turn out that you are not satisfied with minor differences, for example, in church rituals, which, of course, is not a serious reason for a change of religion. However, if you have important reasons, for example, if you and your spouse belong to different churches, and you want to baptize a child in one of them (or the third), then changing the religion will be a reasonable and balanced step.
2
Go to a church related to the religion you want to join. Most often in Russia, people want to change Orthodox Christianity to Catholic. If you support this point of view, then look for a Catholic church in your city. There, as in the Orthodox church, you can talk with a priest who will explain to you what you need to do to change your religion.
3
Start going to the catechumenate group (studying the basics of worship by members of the church, or people preparing to adopt a new religion). As you study the foundations of faith, be careful and diligent. Understand, if it is still doubtful for you, that you can change religion only once in your life, otherwise you will inevitably stumble upon disapproval and, possibly, even condemnation from other believers.
4
Complete the New Belief Initiation Rite after your course in church foundations has been completed. Each church has its own rite. For example, in the Orthodox Church, a person is immersed in a font with holy water and a prayer is read, while in the Catholic Church, anointing and exorcism take place (expelling demons and all bad things from a person).
5
Do not forget that by joining the new church, you have assumed new responsibilities, and therefore, now your attitude towards life will necessarily change. Do not be afraid of these changes - you made your choice consciously, which means that it was the right one.
