Old books that have been accumulated by many families since Soviet times are deposited with dead weight in bookcases, on balconies, in garages, in summer cottages, and sometimes even in basements. Naturally, keeping books under inappropriate conditions is far from good for them. The roots crumble, the pages crumble and turn yellow … Therefore, sooner or later, such books are handed over for waste paper, resulting in a penny. Stop! Old books, among which there may be beautiful and rare copies, do not deserve this. They can be disposed of much wiser.

Instruction manual
1
Books can be read. Paradox, but it is! Sort your old books, you may wonder how many useful and interesting literature is among them, or maybe you will even find antiques.
2
With the right books we decided - their place on the shelf. But what to do with the rest? Not to waste paper! The first thing that comes to mind is to sell them. But do not run to the flea market. Books can be sold in a more civilized way. On the Internet you will find a ton of online stores that sell used books. If the number of unnecessary books goes off scale for a hundred, it makes sense to add them to a virtual storefront and sell them. Book prices vary. If the book is in good condition, then it can be sold even at the price of a "store."
3
If it seems to you that selling over the Internet for a long time is troublesome and unprofitable, you can search in your city for a store under the magic name Bukinist. This is the same basement (or a luxury store, it all depends on the budget, but more often a basement) in which used books are sold. That's just the price of admission of your library will not be very high - within 10-20 rubles per copy.
4
You can advertise in the newspaper. Maybe there are collectors who are looking for just such a book. Or some poor family would gladly buy Griboedov from you for 50 rubles - you still have to read according to the school curriculum, but expensive in a store.
5
Surely, in your city there is a literary cafe or a club for reading enthusiasts. There is a chance to sell them several books or exchange them for others that are more interesting to you.
6
Oddly enough, books can be handed over to the library. Again, on mutually beneficial terms: you can get some books or magazines from them in return, or some services, for example, free Internet access for a certain number of hours.
Useful advice
If you don’t need books at all, and you don’t have the time or opportunity to sell them or change them, don’t throw the library in the trash and don’t hand it under the knife. Better take it to the nearest orphanage - or ask their staff to drive up to you. Children will be grateful!
