There is an opinion among people that the only method of practical psychology is a sociological survey. But such an opinion is incorrect, since among the methods of psychology there are a huge number of those that are absolutely not related to surveys. Plus, the survey cannot be only a sociological method, since it is widely used in journalism, political science, law, etc. How is a sociological survey conducted?
Instruction manual
1
First of all, before you start it, you need to clearly define the procedure and objectives of the study. That is, the survey procedure is always preceded by the development of a research program, an understanding of the goals and objectives, hypotheses and categories of analysis.
Questions should be clear and clearly formulated, in compliance with language standards. The wording of these questions must necessarily correspond to the cultural level of the respondent. Also, the total number of questions should be within the framework of common sense, so as not to tire the interviewee. The possibility of discretion in matters of subtext offensive to the respondent is expressly excluded.
Based on this, we will need a sociological survey plan, as well as a questionnaire. It is very important to take into account the social and demographic characteristics of the respondents, otherwise the survey loses all meaning. Therefore, the questionnaire should have a part called the passport, where the data about the respondent is entered.
2
Further, it should be explained to all respondents why you are conducting this event, to reveal its purpose to them.
After all the preliminary procedures are completed, we proceed directly to the survey. As it takes place, respondents' answers are noted in a special questionnaire for further work with the information received.
3
When the survey is completed, it is necessary to process the results of the questionnaire:
1. Count the number of answers to each of the questions asked.
2. Enter the results in a table.
3. We analyze the results and draw conclusions based on them.
In the table, opposite the proposed answers to your questions, put the number of their choices.
note
In general, the methods of sociological survey are very diverse. In addition to questionnaires, they include interviews, expert, postal, telephone and other surveys. Any of their varieties, although they have their own characteristics, are based on general principles and approaches. Despite all this diversity, the most widespread and comprehensive form is questionnaire, it is it that can most clearly reflect the results of the study.
