1
Elizabeth II is one of the monarchs, who has been on the throne for the longest time in the history of the English crown. Only Queen Victoria is ahead of her. The sixtieth anniversary of the coronation of the beloved queen was celebrated in Britain with lavish celebrations.
2
Festive events began on June 1. In Portsmouth, one of the ships of the national armed forces of Britain with the beautiful name "Diamond" fired 21 weapons volleys in honor of the royal anniversary. The next day, June 2, a derby was held in Epsom, which the Queen honored with her presence.

June 3 was the most solemn part of the holiday. It was held in London. A large group of ships, both reconstructed historical and modern, passed along the Thames River. Thousands of people were involved in organizing this event. The “great river” last saw such a maritime procession 350 years ago. The queen and members of her family also sailed across the Thames on their Chartwell Spirit barge.

In one of the parks of the English capital, festivities were organized. They included a carnival show, various entertainment for the public and refreshments - a big cake. Some Britons spent the holiday in a narrow family circle. In this country, it is customary to celebrate major events in the life of the royal family, for example, the birth of heirs or, as in this case, the anniversaries of the reign.
5
Monday, June 4, was declared a day off on the occasion of the anniversary of the reign of the Queen. That day there was a major concert in the center of the capital, at which the most popular English performers of different decades performed - Elton John, Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder and others. On the night before the concert, hundreds of lighthouses were lit all over the British coast.

On the next, final day of celebrations, the queen took part in a solemn church service. The Anglican Church's particular attention to the jubilee is due to the fact that the English monarchs are considered the heads of this trend of Protestantism since its foundation. The most prominent figures in the state and the Queen’s personal friends were invited to a grand dinner after a religious ceremony. After this lunch, the queen went to the balcony of Buckingham Palace to receive an air parade and, of course, to greet the inspired audience.
