Instruction manual
1
Prepare a candle or a burning lamp. The reading of the Psalms must be accompanied by fire. An alternative option is possible only if you are on the road. Find a quiet place where no one will distract you or interfere with you in any other way. The Psalter must be read aloud, but in an undertone, carefully listening to the words and trying to make out the meaning that lies in them.
2
Pay particular attention to the correct setting of stress. Otherwise, the meaning of words or even whole sentences may change. In Orthodoxy, this is considered a sin. Also, you can’t sit while reading the final or opening prayers (as well as the so-called "Words") - be sure to get up, you can sit in other sections.
3
In no case can you dramatize, invest emotions and feelings in reading psalms. Let your voice be monotonous and a little chanted. The main thing is to remain impartial. Also, emotions cannot be shown if you cannot understand the meaning of what was said. As one grows spiritually, one will be able to understand more and more.
note
Be sure to follow the correct reading order of the Psalter.
