Recently, the number of people who decide to change their middle name (as well as first or last name), has been growing steadily. But despite this fact, most people think that changing their middle name is more than difficult. However, in fact, this is not so. Obtaining a passport with a new middle name is now not a problem at all. True, this is done if the reason for the change is good enough, and not just your whim.

Instruction manual
1
The only thing you need to change your middle name is reaching the age of fourteen. From this age, you can change the middle name at will at any time.
According to the law, a request for a change of patronymic will be considered within a month from the date of its submission. Only in exceptional cases can the application review period be extended, but not more than by two months. You must be informed in advance about this.
2
If you are from 14 to 18 years old, then to change your middle name you will also need the consent of both parents or a guardian (guardianship authority).
3
To change the middle name you need to contact the registry office. You must have the following documents with you: 1. birth certificate;
2. a statement on the change of patronymic;
3. certificate of marriage (if you are married);
4. certificate of divorce (in case you want to take your premarital name in connection with a divorce);
5. birth certificates of your minor children (in order to make appropriate changes to their documents).
note
According to experts, your negative attitude to your own patronymic cannot be a good reason for its change. In such cases, it may be considered simply as your whim, an ill-conceived decision, and therefore may reject your request.
Useful advice
The number of applications that you can submit is unlimited, the main thing here is your arguments.
Do not forget that after changing the patronymic it will be necessary to make a number of changes in other documents (for example, such as a passport, driver’s license, and so on).
