Citizens of Russia receive passports at the age of 14. Then at 20 and at 45, passport forms are replaced with new ones. Also, you will have to get a new passport when changing your last name or first name (some people even change their appearance and gender). Finally, the passport can simply be washed accidentally in an automatic machine or even lost. So, what does a Russian citizen need in order to obtain or replace a passport?

Instruction manual
1
Pay the state fee for issuing a passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation in the amount of 200 rubles. (in case of loss or theft of a passport, as well as when replacing a document that has become unusable, the state duty is 500 rubles), take black and white or color photographs measuring 35x45 mm (2 pcs., and in case of loss or theft - 4 pcs.). In some units of the FMS, it is possible to take photos directly when handling.
2
Come personally to the bodies of the FMS at the place of your residence or stay. In addition to photographs and receipts of payment of state duty, take with you a birth certificate and all documents necessary for putting down passport notes (birth certificates of minor children, marriage certificate, military ID, documents confirming citizenship of the Russian Federation, etc.). If for some reason you change your passport, do not forget to take it with you to hand over to the FMS. If you have lost your passport, contact the ATS unit with the appropriate application and provide the FMS with a notice for registration of the incident for review.
3
Fill out the application for the issuance (replacement) of a passport according to the established model. The application should be filled out legibly in block letters by hand, if technical means are available, it can also be printed. Hand over the completed application and all necessary documents to the FMS employee, who will verify their compliance with existing requirements. If you did everything right, then you can get a new passport of a Russian citizen in 10 days. If the passport is not issued at the place of permanent registration, you will have to wait 2 months. At the time of waiting, the FMS authorities can issue a temporary certificate confirming the identity of a citizen of the Russian Federation.
4
Report to the FMS in person for a passport. Check the correctness of the information entered in the passport. If you find any inaccuracies, notify the FMS employee immediately so that the passport is redone. You will not have to pay the state fee again in this case. Hand in a temporary citizen ID (if you received one). Sign with a gel pen in the designated place on the second page of the passport and in the application for its issuance. Get from your FMS employee your new Russian citizen passport. Keep it carefully - this is your main document!
