Instruction manual
1
A church note of repose is written directly in the church and served at the church kiosk. A note can be submitted to all baptized Orthodox who have died in a righteous spirit, that is, those who died a natural death, violent death (at the hands of other people) or who died as a result of an accident.
2
At the top of the note of repose, a cross is necessarily drawn and the text is written: "About repose." Next are the names of the deceased, for the remembrance of which a note is given. Names are written in full, in the genitive case. In addition to the name, one can indicate regalia, for example, the holy dignity, attitude to military service (warrior). If the note is served on a child who has died before the age of seven, the infant should be written in front of the name. If the deceased child was between the ages of 7-15 years - a lad / lad.
3
It’s better to write the note in block letters so that the names are easy to make out. In the notes of repose, submitted within forty days after death, the newly deceased should be written in front of the name. If a person is worthy of constant mention, you can add a memorable before the name. If a person died a violent death at the hands of a murderer, one should not write about this in a note of repose.
4
In many pious families there was a special book - a commemoration book, in which, as they died, the names of the deceased were entered. It was kept next to home icons, brought to the church and served to the priest during the service. Church note on repose is the same commemoration, only one-time.
5
A note of repose, served without the cross depicted on it, written inaudible and messy - a manifestation of disrespect for the church and the dead. It is not necessary to write many names in a note. It is better to submit several notes, in each of which indicate 7-10 names. It is advisable to find out the correct church spelling of the name of the deceased, on which a note is submitted. This can be done by looking at the holy calendar or church calendar. All notes submitted for repose are brought to the altar and are read before the Holy See during the Divine Liturgy.
note
What resting notes can I submit? At proskomidia - it is performed before the liturgy. When naming each name in a note, particles are removed from the prosphora and dropped into the Cup with the Blood of Christ. At the same time, a prayer is read for the forgiveness of the sins commemorated. At the liturgy - notes on the repose are read during the liturgy in front of the Holy See. On litany - names are called on lithenium for all to hear. At the moleben - it is ordered specifically for the specific departed. At the requiem - a requiem, performed on the baptized after their death.
Useful advice
For people who left their own free will (suicides), notes on repose cannot be filed.
