Predicting the weather is difficult even for professional meteorologists whose services include accurate equipment and satellite data. However, our ancestors coped with predicting changes in the weather without hydrometers and geostationary satellites. Some signs have not lost relevance so far.

Instruction manual
1
Folk signs can be divided into two large groups. The first will include physical and biological phenomena that are explainably related to weather changes, for example, the appearance of frost on trees in winter indicates that warming is coming. The second group includes those that are based only on long-term observations of their ancestors: the September thunder, for example, is considered a harbinger of warm autumn. Naturally, meteorologists are skeptical of the second group, but at the same time they will not diminish the importance of observations from the first group. Folk omens are both short-term - promising quick inclement weather, frost or warming, and long-term, which make a forecast for a whole season or even a year.
2
It is safe to say that good weather can be maintained if during the day there is almost no wind with slight gain during the day and a constant change of direction. If the sky is clear in the morning, cumulus clouds appear by noon, disappearing in the evening. The dew that forms on the grass after sunset also indicates that good weather will not change. The same signs include smoke rising from a vertical column, high flying birds, chirping crickets.
3
You can understand that the weather will go bad by the cumulus clouds remaining until night, red sunset, lack of dew and night fog. In addition, a slight difference in day and night temperatures, the wind that does not abate by night, low creeping smoke from a fire or chimneys speaks of imminent weather deterioration.
4
The coming rain can be predicted by cirrus clouds, a large number of clouds in the west, and the increase in wind in the evening. If the sun is painted crimson in the morning and at sunset, this also indicates the imminent onset of rainy weather. Air warming at night also almost guarantees approaching rain.
5
You can find out that the rain will end soon by the weakening wind, the decaying cover of clouds, and, oddly enough, thanks to the cooling after a shower for several hours, which means the passage of the cold front and the rapid improvement of the weather.
note
Some national signs have lost their relevance due to centuries-old climate change.
Helpful advice
If you are going to predict the weather, draw conclusions not only on the basis of signs, but also using meteorological forecasts for greater accuracy.
