Russia is the world's largest supplier of oil and its products. Including diesel fuel - perhaps the most common energy carrier. It is therefore not surprising that the question of the correct (both from the point of view of safety and from the point of view of the law) transportation of diesel fuel is so important and its solution is often of interest.
Instruction manual
1
First of all, you need to consider that it is possible to transport diesel fuel by various means suitable for these purposes (the transportation rules do not provide for any type of transport that would be prohibited). Therefore, for these purposes, the following modes of transport are suitable:
- railway;
- pipeline;
- marine;
- air transport;
- Tankers and motor vehicles (including specially equipped cars).
Transportation by the last of the given modes of transport will be considered in this article in more detail. This method requires special attention, due to the larger number of search queries compared to other transportation methods. This situation is explained by the fact that high costs are not required either for transportation or for its organization. That is why the use of vehicles for the transportation of diesel fuel is more popular with private business organizers and consumers of their services.
2
The next step is to bring the selected method in line with the technical requirements. In the case of vehicles, diesel fuel must be transported in tanks that have a bottom drain, air valves, and a pressure monitoring system. In addition, such tanks must necessarily have an inner coating that is resistant to diesel fuel and hot steam. It is also necessary to ensure that the tank used is safe from sparks due to the action of electrostatic forces in order to avoid arbitrary ignition of the fuel (this is especially likely when the tanker is moving directly) and ground the tank.
It is impossible to fill the tank over 95% of its capacity - diesel fuel expands when heated (for example, in hot sunny weather), and therefore it is necessary to leave free space in the tank for this case.
3
Now consider the requirements of laws and state standards. According to them, the tank should be painted in a bright orange or red color so that it can be easily and easily noticed from a long distance on the road; petroleum product, net mass or volume, production date and batch number).
Detailed requirements for the transportation of petroleum products (including diesel fuel) are specified in GOST 1510-84. According to this standard, the transportation of diesel fuel with a volume of more than 1 cubic meter (that is, more than 1, 000 liters) also requires the following documents:
- a document indicating the route of transportation;
- European standard agreement on the international transport of dangerous goods (ADR) - it talks about the preparation of the driver for the transport of dangerous substances;
- a document on the approval of the vehicle for the transport of dangerous goods.
In addition, it is also necessary to mark the vehicle with dangerous goods plates.
For the transportation of diesel fuel with a volume of less than 1 cubic meter, the presence of the above documents is not necessary.
note
Regardless of the volume of transported diesel fuel, fire extinguishing equipment is mandatory.
Useful advice
Do not allow the mixing of flammable substances. If earlier in the tank was not diesel fuel, but another substance, then such a tank should be thoroughly washed and dried.
