You will need
tracking number of the parcel.
Instruction manual
1
In order to track the path made by a parcel, a parcel or registered mail, you need to know the postal identifier, which can also be called a "track number". This is an individual code that is assigned to all registered mail items. For parcels sent by Russian Post within the country, the track number consists of 14 digits (the latter being written with a space). The postal identifier for international shipments consists of 13 characters. Some of them are numbers, some are Latin letters. After the employee of the post office receives and registers the parcel, he gives the sender a check on which (in the lower part, after the name of the type of dispatch and check number) and the desired combination of numbers is indicated. If you want to track the parcel addressed to you, ask the sender to find on the receipt and dictate the postal identifier to you, otherwise you will not be able to get information about its location, even if you know exactly the sender's information, date and place of sending.
2
Go to the official website of Russian Post, located at www.pochta.ru. On the right side of the main page you will see the inscription "Track", under which there is a window designed to enter the mail identifier. You can also directly go to the message tracking section at www.pochta.ru/tracking. On the website of the Russian Post, you can track not only the parcel sent inside the country, but also departures from abroad - the system works with most international tracking numbers. If the number is not accepted by the system, you need to track it on the postal service of the sending country.
3
Enter an identifier. It is typed without spaces, brackets or other characters. If it is an international dispatch, please note that the letters are entered in the included Latin layout and in upper case, otherwise the system will not accept the registration number.
4
After entering the track number of the parcel, click the "find" icon. After a few seconds, you will see a list of all operations carried out with the parcel at this point in time. You can make sure that the track number is entered correctly by checking the information about the sender and addressee at the bottom of the page. The weight of the parcel and its declared value will also be indicated there.
5
The list of operations displays all the events that occur with the parcel, starting from the moment it was received at the post office and ending with delivery to the addressee. After checking with him, you can see the operations performed at the time of the request, the date and time of each completed action, as well as the numbers and locations of the post offices where this happened. This makes it possible to understand where the parcel is currently located - at any of the sorting points, on the way between them, or at the post office of the destination.
6
It is assumed that the mail tracking service on the Russian Post website works in real time, however, in practice, sometimes the service is slightly behind reality. For example, in the first few hours after receiving the parcel in the mail after entering the track number, the data may not be displayed. This is a fairly common occurrence, which should not cause concern. In addition, some sorting points do not update information on weekends - and it is published retroactively. Then, several messages may appear in the history of events at once (for example, if the package over the weekend managed to arrive at the sorting point, go through sorting and go on). However, if you sent a package a few days ago, and no information about its route after entering the track number is still not displayed, or the status of the package has not been updated for a long time, you must write an application to search for a shipment. This can be done at any post office, presenting a check issued at the time of sending (or a copy thereof) and an identity card. Applications for the search for lost parcels are accepted by Russian Post within six months from the date of departure.
7
If the parcel status means that the shipment “arrived at the place of delivery” - it means that she arrived at the post office, which serves the address of the recipient. According to the official rules of the Russian Post, a notice should be issued on the same day - and the postman must deliver it no later than the next day. However, it is precisely at this stage of delivery that failures often occur - sometimes a notification arrives only after a few days, and sometimes even gets "lost" along the way from the office to the mailbox. In such cases, you can receive the package without waiting for the notice. To do this, it is enough to come to the post office with an identity card and tracking number of the item - and the postal staff will be required to find and issue the package.
8
The tracking service is free of charge, and in order to use it, there is no need to register on the website of the Russian Post. However, if you constantly receive or send first-class letters, parcels or parcels - filling out the registration form, you will make the process of tracking items by track number somewhat more convenient. In your personal account will be stored postal identifiers of items that need to be tracked, and you do not have to enter them again each time. In addition, you can more quickly track your packages - notifications of changes in their status will be delivered to you by e-mail immediately after the new data appears in the system. And residents of Moscow and St. Petersburg, having a personal account on the official website of the Russian Post, can even order delivery by postman within the city.
