By dropping a sealed envelope into a regular mailbox, you cannot know with absolute certainty that the addressee will receive it. Unfortunately, correspondence often disappears, and it is impossible to find those responsible for this. If you decide to send important papers or just want to be sure that the addressee will receive the treasured envelope, use the special service - sending registered mail.
Instruction manual
1
By registered letters it is customary to send all kinds of forms, reports, receipts - that is, documents that do not have a certain material value. In the same way letters are sent to various authorities. A receipt sent by mail guarantees delivery to the addressee under signature. Diplomas, certificates, securities or magazines are best sent with letters of declared value.
2
Having decided to send a registered letter, go to any branch of the Russian Post. The best option is to send it from the main post office, because all the letters from the regional offices still come here for sorting. You can save time if this is important in your case.
3
Arriving at the post office, find the box with the sign "Sending registered mail." Check with the mail employee what kind of envelope you will need for your letter. There are several different sizes for sale, including special sealed envelopes. The total weight of the item should not exceed 100 grams, otherwise your letter will be issued as a parcel.
4
Decide if you need an inventory of the letter attachment. This is important when sending multiple documents. When completing the inventory, contact the mail employee - he will tell you how to do it correctly, or fill out the inventory yourself, for an additional fee.
5
Be careful when writing the address. Do not forget the recipient’s postal code and surname - these are the most common mistakes when sending. If your letter is sent abroad, keep in mind that in another country there may be different rules for processing the address. Carefully rewrite the names of streets and cities in a foreign language - a Russian postal worker is unlikely to be able to verify their correctness. Remember - letters with incorrectly written addresses are returned to the sender.
6
Consider whether you need a notice of delivery of the letter. This is important if you need to know the exact date and time of receipt.
7
Once again, check the completeness of the attachments, the correctness of the address and hand over the envelope and the actual letter to the mail employee. He will seal the envelope, weigh the letter and tell you the amount that you must pay for shipping and additional services if they were provided.
note
Please note that the rules prohibit the acceptance of especially valuable documents, money, credit cards. All of these values are shipped by express delivery - for example, DHL.
