If you do not need medicine for your illness or if you need a rare and expensive drug that is not on the list of the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Russian Federation and does not have cheap analogues, then you can refuse the benefits for free distribution of drugs. You can refuse benefits in whole or in part by applying to the local branch of the Pension Fund. In accordance with the latest government decrees, this must be done before October 1 of the current year so that the benefits are canceled starting January 1 of next year. So, if you received a disability, for example, in November, then you will not be able to refuse to receive preferential drugs next year. Although some regions have adopted additional legislative acts supporting the rights of persons with disabilities in such situations.

In the event that you subsequently change your mind to refuse benefits, you have the opportunity to file another application before April 1 of the year in which you began to receive money instead of drugs.

An application for the removal of benefits should be submitted to the office of the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation annually, guided by the same terms. Therefore, if after a year you decide to return the benefits, they will be restored automatically if you do not begin to apply for their withdrawal.
