Easter is the main Christian holiday. It contains the whole meaning of the Christian faith. The holiday date can be determined by several methods. Easter passes after the vernal equinox. If you have a lunar calendar at hand, then determining the date of Easter for this year will not be difficult. You need to find the full moon day, which falls after the vernal equinox. The closest resurrection to this day will be the date of Easter. If you do not have a lunar calendar or you need to calculate the date of Easter for a specific year, then you can use special formulas.
2
Here is the formula by which you can calculate the date of Easter for any year. Let's analyze it below.
First, calculate the remainder of dividing the number of the year by 19, using a calculator or dividing by a column, as you prefer. We take this value as A.
3
In the same way, we calculate the remainder of dividing the number of the year by 4. We take the value as B.
4
We calculate the number B as the remainder of dividing the number of the year by 7.
5
We calculate the number Г as the remainder of dividing by 30 the quantities 19 * A + 15.
6
We calculate the number D as the remainder of dividing by 7 the values 2 * B + 4 * B + 6 * G + B.
7
In order to immediately calculate Easter Day, it is necessary to estimate the sum of the values of G and D. If it is more than 10, then the Easter date will be G + D - April 9, otherwise 22 + G + D March. The date turned out according to the old style, to translate into a new style, you need to add 13.
note
Catholics and Orthodox celebrate Easter on different days, these dates coincide only once every few years. The reason for this lies in the fact that different countries have chosen different points of reference from the day of the vernal equinox, according to the Julian and Gregorian calendars.
Useful advice
If you need to determine the day of the full moon following the vernal equinox, you need to add the number G. by March 21. Moreover, if Г is more than 10, then the full moon will be in April, from the resulting number you need to subtract 31. If Г is less than 10, then the full moon will come in March. Then, on the regular calendar, you can calculate the Sunday following this day.
