July 7, 2012 the whole world learned about the small provincial town of Krymsk in the Krasnodar Territory. After all, this urban settlement was practically washed away from the face of the earth by large water that came from the mountains. As a result of the flood, more than a hundred people died, thousands were recognized as victims. In addition to official structures, people throughout the country provide their feasible assistance to the population of Krymsk, who find themselves in a difficult situation.
Assistance is being carried out in different directions. The first is the collection of humanitarian aid. In almost all major cities of Russia, points have been organized to collect the necessary things and basic necessities. Here they take both clothes and medicines, as well as hygiene items and household chemicals. Volunteers regularly update lists of what needs to be brought and thank everyone for their help. So, for example, the affected area especially needs long-stored products - canned food, cereals, pasta, etc. In addition, various medications are needed. Naturally, we are talking about those that can be called basic, i.e. those that are sold without a doctor’s prescription: painkillers, antipyretic, absorbent, etc. In use and simple bottled water.
Finding out the addresses of points where things are accepted is quite simple. There are ads on the Internet with full addresses and telephones, and messages in local newspapers and on television. You can contact the official authorities who will tell you where you can deliver your parcel - these are district administrations, administrations, prefectures, social security departments, the Red Cross.
Another type of assistance that can be provided to victims is volunteering. The region is in dire need of workers who can help eliminate the effects of flooding - to clean the silt from houses, to fix those buildings that can still be repaired and remove garbage from the streets. After all, part of the population, and not small enough, is elderly people who are unlikely to cope with the restoration of their homes.
Volunteers will also be needed in order to help these same elderly people receive compensation, call damage assessors at a specific address, etc.
In addition, volunteers are needed at humanitarian aid distribution points in the Krasnodar Territory itself. Their tasks include preparing hot food and distributing it to the population, arranging places for the delivery of parcels that were sent today from all over the country, and many other organizational duties.
In case you cannot provide assistance in the first or second way, you can simply transfer money to the victims. Account numbers are regularly broadcast on federal and local channels, indicated in newspapers - both paper and online, and, of course, mentioned on the Internet. According to those responsible for collecting money, literally in the first week after the disaster, more than 10 million rubles were collected.
