Fans of arthouse and rare foreign films know that it is sometimes difficult to find a movie with a high-quality polyphonic translation. Most often, films that are not in demand by a wide range of viewers are accompanied by a one-voice translation. If the quality of the voice acting does not suit you or it does not exist at all, watch films with subtitles.

Instruction manual
1
In most cases, the subtitles that accompany the films are adjusted in size and color - so as to best fit the picture and stand out from its background. However, sometimes subtitle settings need to be adjusted for more comfortable viewing, for example, if a movie is shown on a large screen through a projector. As a rule, all modern programs for playing movies allow you to change the size of the subtitles.
2
Before watching a movie with subtitles, make sure that your computer programs allow you to play text translation. To do this, you must have installed the program K-Lite Codec Pack or its equivalent. When installed on a computer, it will allow video players to correctly display subtitles.
3
You can control the subtitle settings in the control panel of the video player. If you are watching a movie using Windows Media Player Classic, open the Play section, which is located on the taskbar of the media player. In the context menu, find the line "Subtitle settings" and click on it with the left mouse button.
4
In the "Styles" menu, subtitle settings will open in front of you. To change the font size, click on the button with the default font name. It is located in the upper left corner of the settings window. In the "Font" menu that appears, set the required size of letters, their style and color. Subtitle font settings are configured according to the font selection in Microsoft Word. You can choose the style and size of the letters, highlight them in italics or bold. After changing the subtitles as you wish, click on the "Apply" and "OK" buttons to save the changes.
5
After saving the font changes, you will be taken to the main subtitle settings menu. Change the location of the subtitles on the screen, their transparency and brightness. This may be necessary because the enlarged or reduced letters will be displayed on the screen according to their size. You can select additional elements by setting the shadow of the letters or the spacing between them. Save the new settings by clicking "OK" with the left mouse button.
6
Turn on the movie and see how acceptable the size of the subtitles and their location on the screen are now. If you are watching a movie through a projector, check the quality of the picture on the big screen, and not on the computer monitor. If you need to adjust the movie viewing settings, change the subtitle settings according to the specified scheme and save them again.
