Finland is one of the few countries whose life was not affected by the influence of American, European or Eastern culture. For the most part, there are conservative, in a sense, even old-fashioned people who sacredly honor their traditions and customs.

Finnish temperament
The Finns are calm and sedate, they are never in a hurry. Their speech is slow, they do not like talking in high tones and loud laughter. Disputes and disagreements are resolved exclusively at the negotiating table. If the interlocutor looks around or averts his eyes, the Finn will consider him sly and insincere, and if he will speak loudly or laugh uncontrollably - an ill-educated commoner.
In addition, it is not customary to cross your arms over your chest or keep them in your pockets, so you can demonstrate your arrogance and disrespect for a proud Finn. Familiarity is also not accepted here, everyone’s personal space is very valuable and, for example, patting on the shoulder during a conversation is not a desirable gesture. When meeting or greeting men restrained shake hands. Women do the same. When meeting several people at once, it is customary to shake hands with women first, then with men. Otherwise, the modern Finnish culture is imbued with the spirit of gender equality.
Representatives of this people are very responsible and balanced about their words and deeds. “A bull is taken by the horns, a man - by the words” - an old Finnish proverb. And if in Russia the interruption of the interlocutor, although not decent, is already commonplace for a long time, then in Finland such tricks can seriously damage the reputation.
