Calls from Russia to Ukraine, starting in 2000, are carried out in an international format. If before it was enough to dial the city code after the eight and a dial tone, now you also need a prefix to access international calls and a country code.

Instruction manual
1
If you are calling from a landline phone, dial the number eight and wait for the beep, then dial "10".
When calling from a mobile number, instead of the figure eight and tens, press the plus (+) key and immediately, without waiting for the beep, dial the country code. The option of dialing 8-10- country code is also possible. When you are in a far abroad country, instead of the combination of 8-10, they usually dial “00”. The + key on a mobile phone gives the desired effect when calling from any country. The combination of "+" and the country code is also used on Skype.
2
When using a prepaid card, dial the number on it, enter the card code (located under the protective layer that must be erased beforehand), then follow the instructions of the autoinformer. If you are calling from a landline phone, you usually need to transfer it from pulse to tone mode.
3
The following combination of numbers is used: the code of Ukraine 38, the code of the city or mobile operator and the subscriber number. If we hear short beeps, pause and repeat the call. With long wait for an answer and start a conversation. If the subscriber does not answer, call back later.
4
When using a telephone card, you can also call the operator, dictate the card number, country and city or the code of the mobile operator and the phone number of the desired subscriber. If you are calling from the post office, there are two options. First, you make an advance to the operator or insert a payment card into the payphone (it can usually be bought from the operator of the post office, at newsstands, etc.), then the whole procedure is like when calling from a landline phone: 8-tone -10- 38- city or mobile operator code - subscriber number. Alternative: dictate the country and city or mobile provider code and subscriber number to the operator, pay the required number of minutes and wait until they establish a connection and invite you to the booth for conversation.
note
The international code of Ukraine is 38.
Useful advice
Calls using prepaid cards of alternative long-distance and international communication operators are cheaper than directly from a landline and especially a mobile phone.
When calling through such an operator from a mobile phone, the cost of local connection to the city number of the operator will be written off from your personal account.
International calls to mobile phones are more expensive than to landlines.
