From the biography of Adam Gontier
The future musician was born on May 25, 1978 in Peterborough, in the Canadian province of Ontario. At first, he lived with his parents in the city of Markham, then the family moved to Norwood. Here Adam went to school. He became interested in music from a young age.
From 1992 to 1995, Adam participated in a school rock band. Later, he and two of his comrades - Brad Wallst and Neil Sanderson - decided to continue musical activity in the new band, which was called Three Days Grace. All the guitar and vocal parts of the songs were performed by Gontier. In 2003, the group released their debut album. Soon the solo guitarist Barry Stoke joined the band.
Three years later, the public was presented with a second album, well received by critics. It was he who brought fame to the group. The third album, released in 2009, strengthened the collective's position in the world of contemporary alternative music.
In 2012, Gontier decided to leave the team. At first, he referred to his state of health. However, journalists later found out that the real reason for Adam's departure was in creative disagreements. Gontier later also admitted that he was unhappy with the songs from the band’s fourth album and did not want to perform them.
Adam Gontier's solo career
After leaving the group Three Days Grace, Gontier promised his fans that he would not break with the music. He expressed his intention to begin a solo career. Singer and composer Martin Sextin soon joined Adam - he provided accompaniment for solo performances.
Gontier gave many concerts as a solo artist. Among his most popular singles are: It's All in Your Hands, Too Drunk to Drive, Take Me With You, No Regrets, We Will Never Forget.
Since January 2013, Adam worked hard on a solo album. Two years later, Gontier announced the start of a tour as part of a new team. The project was called Saint Asonia. The first album of the new group appeared in mid-summer 2015.
