Gleb was born in 1981 in Moscow in a family close to the world of cinema: his dad is a production designer, and his mother is a make-up artist. In the first years of Gleb’s life, the family lived in Moscow, then the parents moved to Minsk. From childhood, the boy showed a talent for acting, and therefore he was sent to the theater circle. On stage, Gleb mainly played roles where he had to sing. Singing became his favorite pastime, and after high school he entered college of music.
Creative career
Gleb was torn between two vocations: theater and music. He did not seek an easy way, and enrolled at once in two educational institutions in Moscow: at the Shchepkin Theater School and at the Moscow Conservatory. How he received education at the same time in two universities - history is silent.
Gleb’s first work in the cinema was episodic, he played it at the age of 14, in the Belarusian film “Fireman”. And only after 10 years he again hit the set. After 2005, he starred in several films and TV shows, the best of which were Admiral, Papa, and 72 Meters. His most famous role in the movie is Ruslan Khilkevich in the TV series Margosha (2009).
He does not only act in films, but also writes music for films: “Pilgrimage to the Eternal City”, “Admiral” and others. He writes music for paintings of various genres - this indicates his versatility and great professionalism.
In 2006, Matveychuk began his career as a performer: he became the vocalist of the "Lady Prowler" team, and in 2007, together with Igor Novikov, they created the group "Flair". A little later, Gleb became the vocalist of the Renaissance group. Now Matveychuk is participating in a television show, and also touring Russia with concert programs.
As for television, not everything was smooth here: in 2012, Gleb “flew out” from the show “Voice”. However, he did not stop trying to participate in competitions, and in 2013 he became the winner of the "Two Stars" competition in collaboration with Olga Kormukhina. He also became one of the six finalists of the vocal show "Russian Tenors". And he also earned a People’s Choice Award on the Show Just Like It, portraying a wide variety of characters: Leps, Shura, Anna Netrebka, Freddie Mercury and others.
