Movies about the underage wizard Harry Potter abound in beautiful places, interesting scenery and picturesque landscapes. Some of them are the result of computer graphics, others are real-life places that are located in the UK.
Studio Leavesden
Most of the scenes in the Harry Potter films were shot in a movie studio called Leavesden. In its place in the past was a large military airfield, and after World War II it was abandoned - by 2000, when they began to select a place for filming, there was only one hangar.
It was no coincidence that the producers of the movie about the wizard chose this room: huge spaces and high ceilings made it possible to create excellent scenery for a medieval castle where young magicians studied.
This studio filmed scenes in the Great Hall, where students dine at long tables. The candles hanging above the tables were real - they were kept on fishing lines, which were then removed from the frames using computer graphics. In the same hangar were the bedrooms of the main characters of the films, and the common living room of the Gryffindor faculty.
Today in the studio Leavesden there is a museum dedicated to the filming of the film: here the original scenery, complemented by real costumes and props that were used during the filming, has been preserved.
