Kulikovo field is located at the junction of three districts - Kimovsky, Bogoroditsky and Kurkinsky, all of them belong to the Tula region. By Kulikovo field it is customary to understand not only the place of battle, but also a large section of the Russian Plain, which covers the basin of the Upper Don and the Nepryadva River. All this space is considered a state-protected reserve.
You can start acquaintance with this historical place with Epifani - this is a former large county town; currently, a historical and ethnographic museum is working on the territory of the merchant's estate, which can cause great interest among lovers of antiquity.
The next place on the Kulikovo field where you need to go is the village of Monastyrshchino and the village of Tatinki, which are located at the confluence of the Don and Nepryadva. It was there that the Tatinsky ford regiments of Dmitry Donskoy crossed Don to join the battle with the army of Mamaia. After the battle in the village of Monastyrshchino, the fallen soldiers were buried. There was built the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, it was originally wooden, but now it is a stone building. This temple and the Alley of Memory and Unity represent the museum and memorial complex, which houses a unique collection of items related to the Battle of Kulikovo.
On the way from Monastyrshchino you can get to the place of the Battle of Kulikovo. This field is located between the Fish Top beam and the Smolka River. Some time ago, Green Dubrava was revived here, hundreds of years ago there stood the Reserve Regiment of Voivode Bobrock, who decided the outcome of the battle.
On the highest hill of the Kulikovo field there is an obelisk in honor of Dmitry Donskoy, it can be seen from a distance of fifteen kilometers. The hill on which the obelisk stands is called Red. In addition to the obelisk in honor of Prince Dmitry, it built the temple of St. Sergius of Radonezh, which is one of the shrines of Kulikov Field.
