Biography
Fedor Filippovich Konyukhov was born on December 12, 1951 in a large peasant family. Philip Mikhailovich and Maria Efremovna Konyukhovs had five children. The family lived in the village of Chkalovo, Zaporizhzhya region.
The head of the family, a hereditary fisherman, worked in a fishing artel on the Sea of Azov. Maria Efremovna was a housewife. The woman devoted her whole life to the family.
From an early age, Fedor loved the sea, and his father often took him fishing.
The boy was very fond of reading. He read books about great travelers, naval commanders and dreamed someday to go out to the open sea, open new shores, and visit distant lands. In school, Fedor went in for sports, believing that these skills would be useful to him on long-distance expeditions. He had no doubt that he would fulfill his dream and become a great traveler. After school, Konyukhov entered the Odessa Naval College. This was followed by studies at the Leningrad Arctic School. Fedor received a navigator navigator diploma. He was sure that the knowledge and skills acquired at the school would certainly bring him closer to the fulfillment of his cherished goal, to become a navigator.
Travels
Fyodor made his first voyage at the age of fifteen. He swam across the Sea of Azov on his father’s boat.

1984 - an international regatta for the Baltic Cup as part of the DVVIMU crew, as well as rafting on the Lena River on a raft.
In 1985, Konyukhov participated in an expedition through the Ussuri taiga in the wake of Vladimir Arsenyev and Dersu Uzal.

2002 is the first camel caravan expedition “Following the Great Silk Road” in the history of modern Russia. In the same year, the first in the history of Russia crossing the Atlantic Ocean on a rowing boat along the Canary Islands - Barbados route. Konyukhov set a world record - he went this way in 46 days 4 hours.
2003 - 2004 are famous for sea crossings and world records, established both by one navigator and as part of multinational crews:

· Russian-British transatlantic record crossing with crew on the Canary Islands - Barbados route (world record for multihulls - 9 days);
· Russian-British transatlantic record crossing with crew on the route Jamaica - England (world record for multi-hull vessels -16 days);
2004 year:
· A single transatlantic record transition from east to west on a maxi-yacht along the Canary Islands - Barbados route (world record for crossing the Atlantic Ocean - 14 days and 7 hours).
In 2005-2006, the brave sailor took part in the project “Around the Atlantic Ocean” as part of the Russian crew, making the transition on a yacht along the route England - Canary Islands - Barbados - Antigua - England.
2007 - crossing of Greenland by dog sledding from the east to the west coast (record 15 days 22 hours);
2007-2008 - the Australian race around Antarctica along the route Albany - Cape Horn - Cape of Good Hope - Cape Luin - Albany (102 days; single yachtsman, non-stop);
2009 - the second stage of the international expedition "Following the Great Silk Road" (Mongolia - Kalmykia);
2011 - expedition "Nine highest peaks of Ethiopia";
On May 19, 2012, as part of the 7 Summit Russian team, Konyukhov made his second ascent to the summit of Everest.
2013 - the crossing of the Arctic Ocean on a dog sled along the route North Pole - Canada.
December 22, 2013 Konyukhov leaves for the Pacific crossing on a rowing boat without calling at the ports. The trip lasted 160 days and ended on May 31, 2014. This was the first crossing of the Pacific Ocean on a rowboat from continent to continent, in addition, Konyukhov showed the best result for going alone on a rowboat without calling at ports or outside help (the best of previous similar trips lasted 273 days).
2015 - the Russian record for the duration of a flight on an AX-9 class hot air balloon (19 hours 10 minutes);
On July 12, 2016, Fyodor Konyukhov, after a year of training with the support of the team, began his solo round-the-world flight in a MORTON balloon manufactured by Cameron Balloons (Bristol). On July 23, he landed safely in western Australia, setting a new world round-the-world record (11 days 4 hours and 20 minutes).
On February 9, 2017, together with the master of sports in aeronautics Ivan Menyaylo, he broke the world record for a non-stop flight on a fully-hot air balloon - the Binbank Premium balloon. The flight lasted 55 hours 15 minutes, a distance of more than 1000 km was covered.

Creation
Konyukhov made more than 50 unique expeditions and ascents. The knowledge gained over the years of traveling around the world, the thoughts and feelings of a man alone with the terrible forces of the planet found expression in the paintings and books of this amazing person.
Back in 1983, Konyukhov was admitted to the Union of Artists of the USSR. He is the author of more than three thousand paintings, a participant in Russian and international exhibitions. Since 2012, Fedor Filippovich is an academician of the Russian Academy of Arts, a member of the Union of Writers of Russia. The creative method of Fyodor Konyukhov-artist is based on creating a single image of nature and man. After living in Chukotka for five years, he created more than a hundred graphic sheets on the theme "Life and Life of the Peoples of the North". Konyukhov's creative workshop is located in Moscow on Sadovnicheskaya Street. In 2004, with her, Fyodor Konyukhov built the Chapel in memory of the dead sailors and travelers. The chapel was consecrated in the name of St. Nicholas of the Miracle Worker and assigned to the Vysoko-Petrovsky Monastery.
