Fabrizio Werdum is a famous Brazilian mixed martial artist, former UFC heavyweight champion, twice European heavyweight champion Jiu-Jitsu.

Biography
A boy named Fabrizio, who will later become a martial arts star, was born in July 1977 on the thirtieth in the small Brazilian city of Porto Alegre. The guy from an early age began to feel a craving for sports and especially for martial arts.
Fabriciu began to take his first steps in this field under the guidance of an experienced mentor, trainer in jujitsu Marcio Corleta. The results were more than good, already by the age of seventeen Werdum had raised a purple belt over his head. After such a success, Fabriziu himself became a martial arts coach and beloved jujitsu, and for some time he worked actively in this direction in Spain.
Career
Despite the coaching work, Werdum also continued to enter the ring and even took the title of world champion. After that, he decided to try himself in the style of mixed martial arts. He spent his first fights under the brand name Jungle Fight. During the time spent in the ring, the athlete set his own record: in five fights he achieved four victories and suffered one defeat.
In 2005, he began to compete in Pride, one of the world's largest MMA organizations at the time. Werdum's debut fight with Tom Ericson ended in defeat of the latter. After a series of successful performances, Fabrisiou takes part in the prestigious 2006 PRIDE OPEN Weight Gran Prix tournament. In the first match, he agrees with a very strong and respected opponent in the circles of fighters - Alistair Overeem.
The fight came to Werdum quite hard, but in the end he was able to win. The next opponent in the tournament was the no less titled and famous Antonio Nogueira. Throughout the confrontation, he held a dominant position in the ring, knocked the opponent down twice and ultimately won.
Since 2007, Fabrizio Werdum continued his career in an equally prestigious organization - UFC. Under their auspices, he performed at the UFC 70 tournament, where he met with the Belarusian athlete Andrei Orlovsky in his debut match. After a heated and relatively equal fight, the refereeing committee gave the victory to the more experienced and eminent Orlovsky.

In 2009, the athlete moved to Strikeforce, where he performed for two years. He returned to the UFC only in 2011, and at the end of the same year, the organization planned a Verdum fight against the American Brandon Schaub, but the battle did not take place. The next battle, which was to prepare for the Brazilian, was the battle against Roy Nelson. In February 2012, the duel in which Werdum prevailed took place and entered the list of the best fights.
In October 2014, the Brazilian fighter was to fight for the UFC championship title against a serious opponent Mark Hunt. The battle ended with the victory of Werdum. In May 2016, Stipe Miocic decided to challenge the Werdum world title, and did it successfully by sending the current champion knocked out in the first round.
