Emil Gorovets is a famous pop singer, whose popularity fell on the 60s. Fame and fame came to the singer after the performance of the songs "Thrushes", "I walk in Moscow", "Blue Cities". He became a laureate in the variety art contest in 1960.
Famous composers and poets wrote poetry and music for him. His records were published in large numbers, and his voice invariably sounded from all the radios. Gorovets performed his songs in three languages: Yiddish, Ukrainian and Russian. At the peak of his popularity, the singer suddenly disappeared and then rumors began to appear about his death, but in reality he was forced to emigrate from the Union.
Childhood
Emil was born into a Jewish family, in the Ukrainian city of Gaisin, in 1923. His father was a blacksmith and hoped that his son would follow in his footsteps, but fate decreed otherwise. The boy was the youngest in a large family, where besides him there were four more children.
Emil studied at a Jewish theater school and from childhood had a beautiful voice. While still a student, he managed to get into the local theater, where he first performed on stage.
The war intervened in the further fate of the teenager. The family evacuated to Tashkent, where the boy met with the head of the State Jewish Theater - Solomon Mikhoels. His theater was also evacuated to Uzbekistan. Secretly from his parents, the boy entered the acting school, which was recruited by Mikhoels. His talent and beautiful voice allowed the future singer to join the troupe and later he leaves for Moscow with them.
Creative way
In the capital, the young man enters the music school. Gnesins and becomes an actor of the State Jewish Theater. In the late 40s, the theater underwent numerous arrests, after the well-known "case of doctors." Emil leaves the theater, is transferred to evening education and goes to look for work.
At first, he sings in cinemas before sessions, performs in small cafes and with great difficulty earns his living. At one of these performances, the young man is noticed by the head of the jazz orchestra E. Rosner and invites him to his team. Soon they began to recognize the singer, and a year later he became the laureate of the variety artists contest for his solo performance "Freilax".
The singer’s further work was connected with the “Melody” ensemble, which was popular in those years. He also performed at concerts with many famous performers and musicians of those years. Emil sings all the songs already in Russian, which he learned only when he arrived in Moscow.
His first record was released in 1963, where the singer collected his best songs in many languages. After her release, Emil became very popular throughout the Soviet Union. His collaboration with Pavel Aedonitsky and Andrei Petrov gave music lovers a huge number of songs.
Soon, the singer begins to be the first in the country to perform the songs of Western singers, translating them into Russian. At his concerts, an unchanged full house, and records sold out instantly. He became truly a pop star, which few could compare with in those years.
Departure from the country
In the 70s, the situation in the country changed, Horovets was forced to emigrate to Israel, being at the very peak of his fame. In his native land, he could not find a place, his talent was not in demand, after two years he moved again and ended up in the United States.
In America, Emil Gorovets performed in restaurants, worked at several radio stations and became a vocal teacher. For two decades, he continued to tour Europe and twice came to Moscow.
The singer passed away in America in 2001, when he was 78 years old.
